Pilates Exercise: The Spine Stretch 

Tips and techniques: To keep the focus on the spine, bend the head, the elbows and the thoracic spine simultaneously.  

Alignment: Stay on the sitz bone and avoid tucking the pelvis. Using a yoga block under the hips might be helpful.

 

To help you focus, keep your reps short. 

  • Footwork – x5 each
  • The Hundred x10
  • The Roll – up x 5
  • The single-leg circle 5 each direction
  • The rolling like a ball 5 to 8
  • The single-leg stretch is 5 on each leg
  • The double-leg stretch 5 to 8 Scissors x5
  • Double leg lower and lift x5
  • The spine stretch x5
  • The open-leg rocker x 5 to 8
  • The corkscrew x3 each direction
  • Swan dive x8
  • Sinlge leg kick x8 each leg
  • Double leg kick x3 each direction
  • Shoulder bridge 1 x5 Side leg kick 8 each
  • Teaser x3 each
  • Cancan x3
  • Swimming x10
  • Seal x5 to 8
  • Pushups x5 to 8
  • Squats x5
